A Comparison of Platelet Aggregation in Whole Blood and Platelet rich Plasma.

Abstract
|
|
|
Platelet aggregation was studied in citrated whole blood by an electrical impedance
method and in citrated platelet rich plasma by optical method.
Blood samples from normal volunteers were studied with the aim of finding a normal
reference range for maximal aggregation and maximal aggregation times to aggregating
. agents, such as ADP, collagen, ristocetin, epinephrine.
Optimum concentrations of aggregating agents were also studied.
Aspirin had a more pronounced effect on impedance methods than optical methods.
And other factors influencing platelet aggregation were evaluated.
